DaaS is a cloud computing service in which the provider delivers a form of virtual workstations to end users via internet access with a license for each user.
The service relieves administrators from routine activities and the time saved can be devoted to IT development. The client adapts the computing resources to their needs, and a new workstation is ready in minutes. It can be logged on to any device in the office, at home or on the move. All data is securely stored in the cloud and in Slovakia.
How does it all work?
The service provider takes care of the backend of a client that finds it too costly or resource-intensive to create its own virtual workstation infrastructure. This management includes ongoing maintenance, backups, regular updates, data storage and security of the entire solution.
What is DaaS and why is it important?
Desktop as a Service is a form of workstation virtualization that runs and manages the computer operating system in a data center. It simply enables so-called remote access. This is because traditional desktops are restricted by access and once a user is away from the system, they can no longer use their desktop. With DaaS, access to the desktop is not restricted.
Its important aspect is accessibility and simplicity. With PCs and laptops, data, applications or the operating system are usually stored on local hardware, i.e. on a disk. If the computer is stolen or damaged, all data is immediately lost, and then new hardware must be purchased and a complete installation and configuration must be started.
With our service, however, users don’t have to worry about losing their data. The remote data center stores data with a high level of redundancy, and if a device is stolen or lost, the user can access the desktop from any other device. In addition, with a DaaS solution, the desktop is never tied to a specific piece of hardware. Mobile devices, laptops or tablets can be used to view the desktop. This also eliminates hardware costs, as companies can also use the hardware previously used in the company.
