Global Assistance Slovakia provides technical assistance to motor vehicle drivers in the event of accidents or breakdowns, assistance services to individuals travelling abroad, services related to solving problems in the use of real estate, as well as additional medical assistance services such as a doctor on the phone, second medical opinion, personalized oncology, etc. For its activities it uses a professional network of contractual partners from Slovakia and other countries of the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our impetus for migration to the cloud environment was an innovation in the form of the introduction of a specialized application managing assistance services of contractual partners from the network of insurance companies, leasing companies and banks. Initially, we were looking for a hardware infrastructure supplier, but in favor of using cloud services spoke not only the comparison of the total cost of both solutions, but also the guarantee of availability and reliability of the cloud in a 24\/7 mode. The migration was not such a big challenge for us, as the cloud provider allowed us to test and optimize the project and its functionality before putting it into operation. Today, we use a fully functional IT system and, in addition to the environment for the application itself, we also have a test environment in the cloud. Thanks to it, we can train new call center operators and cooperating partners without any operational restrictions.” <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

If the key parameters of the cloud providers in terms of performance, architecture, licensing and access mechanisms are satisfactory and more or less comparable for you, price becomes the decisive criterion. A new cloud environment in which you run your systems more cost-effectively than with a competing provider is undoubtedly tempting. As long as you can rely on the qualified assistance of specialists to guide you through the migration strategy, it is certainly worth it to migrate your applications and systems from one cloud environment to another. Migrating on your own can be fraught with pitfalls, so there is definitely no need to skimp on costs and rely on the help of experts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, all migration steps were carried out correctly, without complications, and with a pre-prepared scenario for a smooth course. Migration of servers to the cloud relieved us of the need for daily monitoring of the servers and their operating parameters. The core business of Flos Slovakia, s.r.o. is the import and distribution of flowers. It is important for us to perceive the expectations of our clients, to provide them with a wide choice, immediate availability and fast remote communication in the form of: order, pay, send. Everything has to work perfectly, as our operational processes depend on a high degree of automation and failure-free operation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We therefore decided to undergo a thorough analysis of the state of the network and systems. This helped us to get a comprehensive view of security, achieving continuity in the event of an outage, and the use of operating system versions. As part of the analysis, we also calculated the expenditure over the average lifetime of the physical infrastructure. The clear answer for the future comprehensiveness of our services and technical support was to enter the cloud.And were we concerned about migration? We didn’t. Taking the time to carefully plan the process of moving to a cloud platform was and is essential. Both to refresh the infrastructure and to redesign the entire application environment, impacting and changing the way IT administrators interact with systems, applications and their end users. A needs analysis is recommended for anyone interested in the cloud. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
